So comes the conclusion to the Divergent Series by Veronica Roth.
Overall, I enjoyed the series, even though the dystopian plot doesn’t make complete sense, if you’re willing to look past the few technicalities, you’re good to go.
While the book was a good read, I found it to be my least favourite of the trilogy.

Plot:
With the society formed of factions destroyed by power struggles and violence, a new chance is offered.
To explore the world past the limits all have known. Tris is ready.
A promise of a new life is given, one far from questionable loyalties, painful memories and betrayals.
When the new reality turns out to be more complicated than the one she has left behind, Tris discovers new truths about their lives, and once again she must face battles to save those she cares for, but at what cost will there be peace and freedom?
Positive Thoughts:
This book had some strong and powerful character development, which only took three books to finally happen.
The ending had an unexpected twist, one you wouldn’t usually expect in a plot like this, so when you’re done crying your eyes and feelings out, it might take a while, you do understand why it had to happen and why it was necessary for the book series to end the way it did.
While we can look past the failed techniques of the plot for a dystopian future that didn’t make much sense, it’s the message at the end of the book that we need to focus on.
Negative Thoughts:
I enjoyed the book overall, but the only thing I can really complain about is that the ending made a part of me cry and the other part of me sending the author to hell for choosing to end the series the way that she did. I understood why it needed to happen after I was reading the book but I still didn’t like it.

Overview:
There were a couple of predictable moments throughout the book that were easy to pick up on.
While none of the books reached a five star rating for me, this is still one of my favourite trilogies to read, and can be found on my recommendation list.
My Rating:
The book has a rating of 3.62 on GoodReads. I gave it a 4.

I had a lot of the same thoughts reading this book, too. I was so shocked by the ending because it was the first book I’d read where an author did *that thing*.

True! It’s also the first book I read with such a twist which makes it stand out, even if I didn’t agree with it π
