This is the 3rd standalone book that I’ve read from James Patterson and while I haven’t found many of his books to be masterpieces, this book really failed to reach the bar.

Plot:
When a terrorist threat is issued for Wall Street – there are no demands, ransoms or negotiations.
Federal Agent Archer Carroll and Wall Street lawyer Caitlin Dillon need to work together to stop a secret militia group that wants nothing but to destroy the financial heart of America.
Thoughts:
The book has an interesting look at Wall Street and a terrorist attack situation.
The plot was good but the terrorist group and the extra love story was a little unbelievable. The characters were clichรฉ and the silly predictable ending didn’t help either. The ending would’ve been so much better if it had ended on a darker note.
The characters had nothing special to them to be wowed or attached to, to add to the fact that there were too many characters to keep track off and lost track sometimes around who was who. The main character gave me a strong Alex Cross vibe.
The dialogue needed some serious work and editing. It was written poorly.
The super cringe love scene can just be completely skipped.
The pace in the book is slow; a change from what I usually expect from a Patterson novel, even though I’ve read one more of his books with the same signature as this one.

Overview:
I struggled to even get a James Patterson feel from it.
This book could’ve been better, maybe if it was written by an author that has these kind of plot themes in their book.
My Rating:
The book has a rating of 3.68 on GoodReads. I gave it a 3.
